Damn! is there a better source? I tried looking for the Lord Reith's Germany Print, and found something with a name like it on Internet Achieve, but the picture quality seemed a bit lower
The german print (for now) is sadly the best quality around of the whole film, as it has by far the most picture of any complete Let It Be release.
Has there ever been an attempt at combining sources? just overlay the higher picture quality Let It Be over the 'more picture' Germany Print?

and just for the record, this is the German print correct?

and you were really not kidding about the source I got being very cut at the bottom, lot of missing screen. wtf

The german print is very fucked up frame rate wise, and also jitters constantly. You would essentially have to go frame by frame while also attempting to match the color grade between the two sources. In essence, it would be an absolute mess!

Well at least I got into this Let It Be topic just as the new shiny ( quite literally because of the noise reduction) source is coming out!

Just saw that an official re-release is getting released for Let It Be, therefor whatever this is, lost most of its value (if it even had any?)

If one of you Let It Be experts know more about this source, would love to know!

One can only speculate, but seeing so film and video much got leaked through HMC, it may have been part of a digitalisation project at Apple where someone in the chain leaked it to the bootleggers. As there are some sources that even sneak previewed more content, like RevolverTV, it could also be just parts of it have been leaked by the main bootlegger to HMC. Question remains though why Let It Be was cropped that way, as that wasn't the case for the rest of the leaked stuff.

Its too bad that the copy of Shea leaked is rather bad quality,
but I'm probably just spoiled, I'm sure it was perfect when it was originally released, before people could just look up clips of a HD print of Shea, and before average people had access to high quality monitors

Revolver TV is a legend, RIP

Come to think of it, it might be they just bothered to digitise the preview copies if those were available on some kind of tape format to save cost and hassle, and it might be Furmanek's Shea and LIB just happened to be in that lower quality state. Other leaks like the Long and Winding Road documentary were clearly from a home cassette tape.

Note that PAL has 625 lines of resolution and NTSC has 525. So If you only transfer the top 525 out of 625 lines when you do the PAL to NTSC conversion, you get the bottom cropped off. Now, as a result, if you cut of the bottom of of a 1.3 aspect ratio picture it now becomes more like a 1.5 aspect ratio (which is what we see on the HMC DVD).

Then if you take that picture and squeeze it down horizontally back to an aspect ratio of 1.3, everyone looks abnormally tall and skinny.

So you have:
(1) the original clips on Revolver TV
- faulty PAL to NTSC conversion, bottom chopped off, picture squeezed down horizontally. Everyone abnormally taller and skinnier. Aspect rato 1.3

(2) the original file that was used by HMC
- faulty PAL to NTSC conversion, bottom chopped off, picture squeezed down horizontally. Everyone abnormally taller and skinnier. Aspect rato 1.3

(3) the HMC DVD
- faulty PAL to NTSC conversion, bottom chopped off, stretched the picture horizontally to restore the correct proportions. Everyone now back to normal. Aspect ratio 1.5

So again, all of this was due to a faulty PAL to NTSC conversion which chopped off the bottom of the picture.
