Unknown, Let It Be Source

Post by silver_2000 »

Don't know if this is truly rare, but was sent this by a fellow board member after completing a custom remaster for them..

Just saw that an official re-release is getting released for Let It Be, therefor whatever this is, lost most of its value (if it even had any?)

If one of you Let It Be experts know more about this source, would love to know!

This is the 1992 Restoration by Ron Furmanek, released by HMC a few years back. Sadly the bottom third of the picture is cut out, making it essentially unusable for projects!

Damn! is there a better source? I tried looking for the Lord Reith's Germany Print, and found something with a name like it on Internet Achieve, but the picture quality seemed a bit lower

I feel bad for Furmanek. He did so much fantastic visual and audio work for the Beatles and in the end they kicked him to the curb like they did Lewisohn.

Furmanek should have been the one behind all the recent remixes they would be so much better.

Do you know how Furmanek's Shea work became public? I don't think it was like released to buy, but like how are fans able to access his 1990s Shea work? did he leak it?

The german print (for now) is sadly the best quality around of the whole film, as it has by far the most picture of any complete Let It Be release.

Lets hope that new Let It Be release is for real, and also hope that its not full of too much noise reduction, heard that might have been a problem with the Get Back Series.. I have a feeling it will probably be tuned down quite a bit

As we’ve seen in various promo clips like in the Now and Then documentary, sadly a let it be re release would definitely have similar levels of denoising. :(

I have 1992 Restorations by Ron Furmanek

of Gerry/Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer, Swinging Blue Jeans

Hollies, Manfred Mann, Freddie/Dreamers & Yardbirds

I prefer his mixes, very very good

He may done some Apple stuff, not sure
