Recently, just out of interest, I decided to tackle syncing the silent 8mm film shot off the TV of John Lennon on the Merv Griffin Show during his stay in Cannes, France on May 24th, 1965. This film ran extremely fast, with my corrections taking it from 1:01 to 1:40. I have dubbed in the accurate audio from this brief interview to the best of my ability, and I have removed the "Chicago Film Archives" watermark. Also, oddly enough, this home movie appears to be mirrored, so I flipped the image to best match all of the available photographs I have seen in which John sits to the left of Merv, not to the right.
