Thicket Maidenhead roundabout; a photographic conformation.

According to maidenhead-advertiser the accident happened in 1972.

Excellent work!

It's a shame the other MMT thread seems to indicate that the outtakes we currently have is the full extent of what still exists.

There is definitely still more out there, a lot of outtakes come only from the DVD special features/ documentaries, and they never show everything; there are a lot pf parts which exist and haven’t been released, and even the HMC DVD’s don’t include all of the footage out there

I don't believe that. Ron Furmanek found all of the rushes, and Apple owns them now. Given that RevolverTV offered some otherwise unavailable (and upgraded) material years ago on YouTube, clearly Keith had more material than has circulated.

Great to know there's more footage out there somewhere. It's the actual bus trip that interests me, not really fussed about the RAF Malling stuff.

Round and round we go,

The ‘second’ roundabout is after the ‘Wheatsheaf’ situated on the A4 and before the Wee Waif and the chronical seem right so my first idea: There is a roundabout at the junction A4 / B478 & A321 near the Wee Waif but was it there already in 1967? The direction of the bus (¼ so a turn to the left) and arrival via A321 to the Wee Waif fits. On the other hand the present roundabout seems too small.

In the sixties the crossing A4 A321 near Twyford was a roundabout and there is some footage ( 9:08 to 10:04 and almost a Magical ..... )

Compared with the Mystery Bus footage the road sighs seems to fit:

Is it possible the bus took the exile to Twyford and turned then again to the A4 and drove to the Wee Waif?
( The Wee Waif footage ends with 'shifting gear' and that's also the begining of the 'third' roundabout scene so it looks like, if the edits are chronological, the last roundabout is after Wee Waif and 'The unkown parking/ petrolstation' could be before the Wee Waif. )

Unknow/ Wee Waif/ Third Roundaboud

The 'third' roundabout could be Burchett's Green it's from the sixties : approaching from A4 Burchett's Green and then 1/4 so a turn to the left too A423 ( now A4130 Henley Rd) , next footage is Harts St Henley on Thames so it's on the route.

So what about it?

Could the unknown parking/petrol station be where there is now a modern petrol station immediately to the west of the wee waif?
There's a building on the old maps, but can't find any old photos.
Maybe wishful thinking

I think it could well be here. There is a pub sign on the right, and the Wee Waif was much smaller at the time. It seems to tie in with the OS maps of the time.

I think it's a 'geographic' hit:

So what about the 'second' roundabout was it there in 1967? So far I could only find this:
