I was curious to discover it and I think that it's a brilliant job but ... what's the use ?

What's the use?
Separating 5.1 into isolated layers is almost like somebody disassembled a Swiss watch and then handed us all the pieces. For many, it will serve no purpose. I like it for the nuance that results...like the McCartney vocals on Come Together. They have been buried for decades but I don't know why. They are strong enough to carry the song without John.
