Now would someone like to explain why this footage has now become available when it was all up for auction with only the usual 20 secs of footage being made available. According to the auction site it sold for 13,000 pounds (UK)!!! So why would they allow for this footage to be made publicly available?? I know if I forked that sort of money I certainly wouldn't let it out of my hands at all for any less than I paid for it. Very strange indeed.

I don't know the answer to that. It's very surprising they did that and if I'd spent 13 grand on the footage I'd be well annoyed that it's been put online for everyone to watch.

I suggest they have been bought for commercial exploitation. I don't think the owner sees any value in trying to release them complete, but could be used for clips in documentaries etc. Distributing watermarked copies will let people know that the clips are available.
