N O W – Richard Lester Documentary 1989

When Paul McCartney began touring again in 1989, the pre-show started with Richard Lester's 15 minute, 3-screen documentary N O W. This started with the A Hard Day's Night opening chord and closed with a 3-screen N O W. Paul continued the show with his first song Figure of Eight.

When you were there, you'll sure remember. I want to see this N O W documentary again. Is it available somewhere, can somebody help?

I saw this before Paul opened the Paris show in 1993. It was a great short film.

It's been a long time since I watched it, but if I remember correctly, the opening film from the 1993 New World Tour was included on the VHS release "Paul Is Live In Concert On The New World Tour." It appears on the tape after the concert performance. I think I have the DVD release of this too, but it's been many years since I played either. I'm guessing the opening film is probably on the DVD as well. I can't describe what differences there would've been between the 1989/1990 opening film vs the 1993 opening film. I don't know of any official release of the 1989/1990 version of the opening film.

The 1989/1990 film has never been officially released, the only place you can truly see it is in camcorder home movies of concerts from that tour. It's a shame because that intro has some footage that's not available anywhere else!

The World Tour - Pre-Show Film - Richard Lester's NOW

A old Beatles friend of mine sent me some interesting NOW files. Thanks Norman for your help. Quality is not so good, but I'm glad we got them. He asked me if somebody could make one good complete reconstruction from these different files. Sorry I can't, I don't have these abilities. Maybe, a video magician can shine a light on these files. Is it possible to put the best parts of these files together ?
