Dear LR,
I just discovered the new "Harry And His Box Set" series.
All I can say is: There are no words which can praise this series enough.
I thought it couldn't get any better after the BBC Archives set, but I was wrong.
A BIG BIG THANKYOU.
And the most important thing is: There are actually new sources. Incredible.
Not just for the Beatles stuff, but also for guest appearances.
For example, the guest appearance by Cyril Davies & His All-Stars Feat. Long John Baldry on PGTB #11.
So far only two songs (Country Line Special & My Babe) were in circulation and known to exist.
But now we have three additional tracks (Baby Please Don't Go/See See Rider/Running And Jumping) from this show,
which as far as I know are new to collectors. Did you time travel to 1963, record it and bring it here?
Of course I understand that you don't cite your sources, but is it possible to get a little hint as to where you got the new stuff from?
Anyway, I'm so grateful. I wish you a great 2024 and now... Carry on!!!...

Re: The Beatles And Harry At The Beeb
So here I am having one of my bad days, in bed and feeling sorry for myself. But I reach over to my 'radio' and put on the BBC and what do you know, The Beatles are on LIVE in this new year of 1964... Thank you Lord R. You are making my days better.
“I remember it like it was yesterday. Of course, I don’t really remember yesterday all that well.”

Is this link correct ? It doesn't work to meLord Reith wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 9:28 am
This is the BBC and not a pirate station. Repeat, this is not a pirate station. We are much more well spoken!
As with most of the stuff, From Us To You has a few new little bits of continuity which you may or may not notice depending on how familiar you are with the material. Honey Don't is longer. And there is a split vocals demix of I Should Have Known Better. And the Tonight interview is better quality.

You're correct. Lord Reith does never reveal his sauces (could this be a hint)

Re: The Beatles And Harry At The Beeb
LR, thanks, thanks and thanks again. I love the BBC recordings, especially the Summer of '63. A fantasy BBC/EMI release for me has been a Pop Go The Beatles set, complete with all the chat and guest groups. Well, we have that here!
And any lingering doubts that I may have had that ‘Oh! My Soul’ was missing an intro as per the old boot LP ‘Beautiful Dreamer’ have been put to rest… We get to hear the full show as broadcast. A wonderful set indeed!
I raise a glass to you, sir!
