Thanks for sharing that clip. Which now leads me to wonder did Meatloaf’s wife actually call him Meat?C90 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 11:39 am And talking pf Pete Best, as a footnote to the Birth of the Beatles movie, here's a TV interview from a few years later where he comments on the depiction of his sacking. The interview doesn't credit his input on the film, and is basically a promo spot for his new book, but might be of interest:

I enjoyed that, thank you!
I'd never heard of this movie before. It's better than I would have guessed (except the firing of Mr. Best - and Best's hair is all wrong).
Stephen McKenna is great as John. (The scene where he tells Brian he's failing and then winks feels very true to life.) Rod Culbertson is a little cartoonish as Paul, but his facial expressions are uncannily accurate. Rain does a fine job mimicking the Fabs. The actors needed to work harder on looking like they were playing guitars, tho.
Having watched "Birth" and "Backbeat," I feel as though I have yet to see a dramatization that captures the Fabs' experience in Hamburg as I've understood it based on books and photos. There's still a great movie to be made about that.
