If it were coming out on dvd instead of going to streaming, I'd guess that it would certainly be in 4:3 But Disney are likely to reject a 4:3 version, which creates a problem because then they'd also say "Our customers expect to see the same thing on the disc as they did on streaming". So then you'd need a two disc set, with the 4:3 version as an "extra" but then you've also got Disney saying "no extras" and Apple having a track record of not including extras worth a damn anyway. So unless MLH has some serious clout and digs his heels in and says "4:3 or nothing" then the prospects look poor to my mind. It would be a little bit sad if we waited all these years and then we get a cropped image as opposed to the full one on 1+ and Anthology.Fun 4 None wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 5:35 pm Assuming that Michael has final say I'd like to imagine it's 4:3 because the Furmanek remaster (seen on HMC) was 4:3 and the unreleased Smeaton remaster (seen in Living in the Material World and McCartney 321.) was also 4:3
As it stands I only ever watched Get Back once and I can't imagine myself watching LIB more than once either, but the nerdy part of me likes to see things done right and it bothers me when they get screwed up because of "the masses demand this and that" when the masses don't know anything and don't give a damn. Just do it right and have faith that audiences will make the adjustment.
