GOODBYE - Paul McCartney recorded this home demo in February 1969 (for Mary Hopkin’s follow-up single to ‘Those Were The Days’). I’ve done two different stereo mixes of Paul’s demo - Mix 1 has his acoustic guitar in stereo, while Mix 2 has the guitar and vocal panned apart. See which one you prefer!

YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO - George sings this 1964 original song which was his second compostion following ‘Don’t Bother Me’ the previous year. Recorded at EMI Abbey Road on 3rd June 1964, during final sessions for the ‘Hard Day’s Night’ LP, George plays guitar while Paul is on bass guitar and it’s probably John who plays the tambourine as Ringo was sick with tonsillitis. George’s song was never worked on again but the mono demo finally surfaced 31 years later on ‘Anthology 1’. My friend Pierre (peter61) did excellent separations from which I have remixed this track into a 1960’s-sounding stereo version. The demo’s original intro and ending were short so I extended these two sections just by a few seconds, but nothing is added of course - it’s still 100% Beatles.

LEAVE MY KITTEN ALONE - John sings this Beatles cover song recorded at EMI Abbey Road on 14th August 1964 during the 'Beatles For Sale' LP sessions. Shelved at the time, this track finally surfaced 31 years later in narrow stereo on ‘Anthology 1” but my friend Tiger did excellent separations from which I I have remixed the track into a new 2024 mix giving the recording a much wider stereo soundstage (in an authentic 1960s style) as well as beefing up Ringo’s drums for a more powerful and energetic mix to better highlight the Beatles’ great rockin’ performance.
