Beatles live on BBC Radio 1962-1964 *MY 2024 STEREO MIXES* VOLUME 4
Here’s my fourth volume of new stereo mixes sourced from the two mono “Beatles Live at the BBC” official CD sets. This concludes my collection of live BBC performances now with restored sound quality and newly remixed into stereo. This has been a labour of love as I always liked these live songs since I first heard some of them on the Beatles bootleg ‘Yellow Matter Custard’ back in 1971. I can now finally enjoy these performances again with much improved fidelity and full stereo sound. Thanks to all who listened to my three previous BBC volumes - I appreciate your comments and hope you enjoy these too!
01. CAROL (recorded 2.7.63, broadcast 16.7.63) Lead Vocal by John.
Recorded at the BBC Maida Vale Studios, Studio 5, London. Produced by Terry Henebury. From “Pop Goes The Beatles”.
02. THE HONEYMOON SONG (recorded 16.7.63, broadcast 6.8.63) Lead Vocal by Paul.
Recorded at the BBC Paris Studios, London. Produced by Terry Henebury. From “Pop Goes The Beatles”.
NOTE: I repaired tape glitches heard over Paul’s first vocal line.
03. TOO MUCH MONKEY BUSINESS (recorded 3.9.63, broadcast 10.9.63) Lead Vocal by John.
Recorded at the Aeolian Hall, London. Produced by Ian Grant. From “Pop Goes The Beatles”.
04. JOHNNY B GOODE (recorded 7.1.64, broadcast 15.2.64) Lead Vocal by John.
Recorded at the BBC Playhouse Theatre, London. Produced by Bernie Andrews. From “Saturday Club”.
05. THAT’S ALL RIGHT (MAMA) (recorded 2.7.63, broadcast 16.7.63) Lead Vocal by Paul.
Recorded at the BBC Maida Vale Studios, Studio 5, London. Produced by Terry Henebury. From “Pop Goes The Beatles”.
06. TO KNOW HER IS TO LOVE HER (recorded 16.7.63, broadcast 6.8.63) Lead Vocal by John.
Recorded at the BBC Paris Studio, London. Produced by Terry Henebury. From “Pop Goes The Beatles”.
07. SWEET LITTLE SIXTEEN (recorded 10.7.63, broadcast 23.7.63) Lead Vocal by John.
Recorded at the Aeolian Hall, London. Produced by Terry Henebury. From “Pop Goes The Beatles”.
08. I GOT A WOMAN (recorded 16.7.63, broadcast 13.8.63) Lead Vocal by John.
Recorded at the BBC Paris Studios, London. Produced by Terry Henebury. From “Pop Goes The Beatles”.
09. Bonus Track: A PICTURE OF YOU - poor quality (recorded 11.3.62, broadcast 15.3.62) Lead Vocal by George. Drums by Pete Best.
Recorded at the BBC Playhouse Theatre, Manchester. Produced by Peter Pilbeam. From “Teenager’s Turn: Here We Go”.
Recorded before a live audience, this is from the Beatles’ second radio appearance and features Pete Best’s second and final radio appearance on drums as Ringo would replace him in August 1962. This song was not included on either of the official “Beatles Live at the BBC” CD sets due to the very poor recording quality. I’ve improved the sound as much as possible.
10. Bonus Track: BEAUTIFUL DREAMER - poor quality (recorded 22.1.63, broadcast 26.1.63) Lead Vocal by Paul.
Recorded at the BBC Playhouse Theatre, London. Produced by Terry Henebery. From “Saturday Club”.

In case anyone missed my previous three uploads I’ve collected together all 4 volumes as a single download (total length is 77:43 so all 36 songs should fit onto an audio CD-R): hxxps://we.tl/t-kPIyBpftkn
