They did not win the auctions. It is nowadays impossible to cover that cost, even if the new tracks are drowned within many familiar outtakes.

I've been wondering about this. The closing price for the main block of Emerick BotR outtakes was something like $10-12,000, wasn't it? But most likely the labels themselves didn't "win" the auction but acquired/bought the tapes either post-auction or from dubs made before the auction. So HMC and Misterclaudel probably would've each paid less than the auction price, no?

I know nothing about the economics of boot cds, nor do I know what sales figures are like anymore. Obviously, boots today don't sell as many copies as they did in the 80s and 90s. Merseyside, I think, only presses maybe 250 or 300 copies of each new title nowadays. But do great releases from prestige labels like HMC and Misterclaudel sell 1,000 copies worldwide? More? Less?

I will admit that I am no bootleg economic expert either but I'm pretty confident that they laid out money to get these. I mean the bootleg fairy didn't just make it appear. And If so, give him/her my address

Do we know any more information about Bolan’s appearance ? Was he in the studio with Paul ?
The Bolan part is UNRELATED to Paul. Tony Visconti used the same Paul/Emerick tape to record some other work with Bolan alone.

According to @etcetera:
etcetera said: ↑
... the tape was given to Tony Visconti for preparing his arrangements and Tony made the mistake to record on it after the McCartney drink to me. Then Tony give it back to Geoff Emerick.

Hammer price is without the fees and taxes ... add 28% to those figures

I don't know how copies each label make, but many are now restricting each release to 300 / 400 copies.

Take the sale figures and calculate the cost ... not forgetting that one tape lasts much shorter than a CD.

I haven't listended to much yet but am currently listening to "Girl's School Take 1" from disc 2. It is indeed thankfully authentic but unfortunately the quality doesn't seem as good as the snippet. But it's an amazing take so the quality doesn't really bother me.
I'll update again when I hear more of the set.
Mine arrived as well…and I’ll say this…it seems like the recent “Underdubbed” official release was done in response to this stuff floating around…hearing a bunch of similarities…Let Me Roll it and 1985 to name two..
