In My Life (2003) (Remix)

Post by Bombers_1969 »

Here's my favorite remix of In My Life using the 2003 Anthology DVD mix. IMO - the vocals are way too loud in the original remix and the EQ is way too harsh. Thus, the vocals have been lowered and the EQ has been adjusted accordingly. Feel free to add your favorite IML remix -

A really nice mix, enjoyed it a lot. Once question as my ears aren't what they were, is John double tracked or is it Paul doing the honors?

Yes - John is double tracked. Paul & George providing harmony.

My new favorite. Thanks much! I love how you have separated the vocals and put the bass in the middle. Better on both counts than Giles '23. I like harmony vocals spread out with both the Beatles and the Beach Boys. It allows one to hear all the notes more distinctly.
But now these days are gone; I'm not so self-assured. Now I find, I've changed my mind, and opened up the doors.

Agree with both of you. I am really disapointed with the RS remixes & associated single on the new 2023 Red Album. Giles is trying to make every aspect between voice, guitars, bass, and drums sound dominate in the mix. No subtlety, a total train wreck! Right off the bat, the bass needs to be lowered by at least 2 db (and the drums in at least one instance by 3db) in most of the new RS remixes.

Check out this remix of We Can Work It Out based on the new Red Album remix. (The drums on the Giles remix sounds like Maxwell's Silver Hammer.) The bass has been lowered by 2db and the drums by 3db (the cymbal crashes by 1db). Works much better IMO -
