Most Underrated Beatleg?

Post by silver_2000 »

Just a disccuson I wanted to start on here, what do YOU think is the most underrated Beatle bootleg, a live appearance that is overlooked? a alternative demo/take of a studio track that overlooked? A forgotten Get Back sessions cover?

My choice for underrated studio outtake is What You Doing Take 11, has its own charm to it, separate from the already underrated release.

My choice for underrated live bootleg is probably Montreal '64, probably the worse sounding of any of the US tour bootlegs, aside from Seattle, but still the lore of Ringo thinking he was going get shot, hiding behind his drums, gives it a bit of energy. Hope an upgrade for pops up someday.

Let me know yours!

One of my favorites is Birthday from Primal Colours, Ken MacIntosh & The Roving Remixers' version

I vote for John Lennon's Ying and Yang. Gosh, I played the crap out of that album when it was released. So many beautiful and fun versions of his songs on that one!

Unsurpassed Masters Vol. 7 (?) I believe. The one with 15 minutes of THink For Yourself studio banter.... I played that disc endlessly. Besides the bootleg from Great Dane of the BBC sessions, this was really my first taste of unreleased material and outtakes. I've been hooked ever since

I'd say The Beatles Versus Don Ho. It has everything that made old Beatlegs so great. Like the White Album it is an eclectic late night FM radio experience, swinging wildly between many interesting and funny themes. It has comedy, education, rarities and Don Ho! What more could you ask for?

"A Guitar's All Right John... " was also a 10-inch.
