Re: Tex's "White Album" 2024 remixes
If y'all think it has too much low end let me know ill adjust. My home system doesn't resolve low bass. It sounds ok at home but excessive in the car. I need to boost the solo snare bits as well they may have manually pushed those up in the vintage mixes.

Re: Tex's "White Album" 2024 remixes
I redid "04 - Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey (2024-02 remix)" with the extra layer of EQ removed it was too much. I also boosted the solo drum hits so it's more like the regular stereo mix. I'd liked to do an extended version like we hear in LOVE show audience tape but I have no idea if that is legit or another Giles fiddle-faddle.

Re: Tex's "White Album" 2024 remixes
If "Revolution" was mixed and released today it would be compressed and limited to heck like this:
Revolution (2024 remix)+.wav
hxxps://we.tl/t-OdOwNMJW6m
It's certainly closer to the sound of mono single mix than the stereo mix. My mix has the clean vocal without the added slap-back reverb.
It might be TOO much compression but everyone has a delete key.

Re: Tex's "White Album" 2024 remixes
Bravo! This is the Revolution I've literally been waiting for. Everything is perfect, for my money (too compressed or no; it goes with the fuzzy guitars):
1) The wonderful introductory guitar (which, incidentally, John said was inspired by Khachaturian's Sabre Dance) [almost] centered rather than on one side.
2) The two electric guitars separated left and right.
3) Kick-ass drums in the middle with Ringo's original "high frequency snare drum" sound (which Giles systematically removed throughout the White Album and in this song). Some folks have criticized that snare sound. I love it. If that's how Ringo wanted it, it's good enough for me! It works well with the overall Beatles sound. It's the polar opposite of, for example, Levon Helm's "dry" drums with The Band. But his sound works within the context of their recordings.
4) Less fuzzy and "spacey" bass.
5) Vocal as it should be. I heard the song when it came out on a 45 on our early 60s mono record player. I loved it then at age 10 (I was rockin'!) and have ever since.
6) LOUD. Yes, it's a particularly loud rock song; that's of the essence here. So if "a lot of compression" furthers that end, bring it on for this one. It's supposed to blow you away.
Nicky Hopkins on keyboards (I just learned today). All four Beatles did the handclaps.

But now these days are gone; I'm not so self-assured. Now I find, I've changed my mind, and opened up the doors.
