Looks great! Could you share a downloadable file without the YouTube transcoding?

I'm curious; what exactly is transcoding?cliftdean74 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 2:59 am Looks great! Could you share a downloadable file without the YouTube transcoding?

Maybe that term isn’t accurate in this instance. I should say compression.Gringo557 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 5:57 amI'm curious; what exactly is transcoding?cliftdean74 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 2:59 am Looks great! Could you share a downloadable file without the YouTube transcoding?
Re: The Beatles - Live at Washington D.C. (Master tape resized to 1080p)
Transcode = recompression, optionally to a different codec. Youtube normalizes all video files to their set of supported codecs and their parameters, so you can never retrieve the original, non-transcoded source file from Youtube.

Raw file by Lord Reith bootleg, unfortunately it is interpolated and was an green tint and colour noise in the screen, on the video I just Grayscaled and deinterpolated to 29.97fpscliftdean74 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 2:59 am Looks great! This is the SD video of Lord Reith, not the upscaled, restored version. The compressed 1080p YouTube video is half the size of the original SD version.Pepe_Java wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 12:00 pmRaw file by Lord Reith bootleg, unfortunately it is interpolated and was an green tint and colour noise in the screen, on the video I just Grayscaled and deinterpolated to 29.97fpscliftdean74 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 2:59 am Looks great!
