The reason I like this version is because it is one of the few remaining "Yoko untethered" mixes. This is most evident in Cold Turkey. This mix has full-on Yoko. In the more recent re-issues she is relegated to the deep background. Even though her "act" can be a little grating at times, it is an important component of John's performance back then. Although there is a camp that would rather forget this whole episode, and tame it, I don't condone the rewriting of history in this way.

In a similar vein, I don't appreciate how Lennon reworked Zappa's songs for the Sometime In NYC album.

Thanks for this upload. I've been looking for something I can hang my hat on without breaking out the old turntable to play my old French import LP version, which was also a re-issue but retained the original mix, (the one with the "Give Peace A Change" misprint on the label.)

Thank you for sharing those Lennon Reel To Reels, transfers sound really good. I'm guessing they originated from the same person.
I'm always looking for quality transfers of Solo Beatle Reel To Reels especially those that are 7 1/2 IPS.
