Real Love and Free As A Bird (new 2024 mixes) + RL/FAAB instrumentals

Post by Lord Reith »

2024?!

Well, I called my last demix of Real Love "2023 mix" so I can't very well call it that again. And we're almost in 2024 anyway, so...

This mix is in response to all the people who said the last one was too slow. So I've done something similar except kept it at the same tempo as the official version. Which also means that I could add it to the video too.

Points of interest

- John's demo removed from the original version. In it's place I separated the two vocals from the demos and balanced them a bit so they match better. I also kept John's piano like in the commercial version but constantly and at a fairly low level except for the intro and interlude.

- I kept the tempo the same but lowered the pitch by 8% to match John, which to me is preferrable to speeding John up to sound like Pinky and Perky.

So in other words I kept it as close to the released version as possible, and just fixed the two things people hate ie: the lofi chipmunky sound to John's voice and the wack-a-mole piano.

Some years ago I did something similar but i used a different demo take and the synch wasn't as good, and there was no demixing then. So this one is much better. Hope you all like it.

Made with the assistance of NEIL (NEural Intelligent Learning).

UPDATE: I have also done exactly the same thing with Free As A Bird.

Upon reflection I also feel that John's FAAB demo was running slow when they added their backing to it. So I've also made a mix sped up by 2% and to me John sounds much more like himself, and also George and Paul sound slightly younger and are a better match. And it makes the song less languid:

Do you also have an updated FAAB audio and video to go with the latest Now and Then video?

Can you also please update the FAAB audio and video to go with this upgrade and the new Now And Then video?

Wow! This is unexpected.

I just wish you could make Ringo's drum more prominent. Driving the song. Seemed it lacks volume.

But John's voice is great.

Hope you do find time in making minimal adjustments.

Thank you dear Lord! :)

Thanks!
You should redo N&T but without that bridge section.

What did you use to alter the pitch/tempo without artifacts? Sounds perfectly smooth.

Had no idea you were working on this, my favorite Threatles song!

Ringo's drums are little lost in the beginning, but are more properly prominent as the song goes on.

LOVE the clarity of the solo guitar.

Very very very nice, thanks!
