MP3 would be better I guess? If so I'll have them at 128 as the M4a are 64kbits

It's swings and roundabouts. Sharing as flac means they could get reshared and assumed to be lossless. On the other hand once they are being shared in a lossless format the quality is fixed. Constant reformatting and resharing between mp3 and M4a is the nightmare scenario as quality will be eroded.

Not a good move to up-convert MP3s to FLACS because it poisons the bootleg well with lossy-sourced FLACS. I'm pretty sure if your program/device plays FLAC it already plays MP3 (an older format). We've already ran around the tree on CD bootlegs finding the WAVs were actually MP3 sourced.

BUT, bootleggers don't give a crap anyways they use whatever they can find in a pinch.

Thankfully the good guys around here bust their tails tracking down original WAV-based sources for their projects.

OK that was a bad idea that don't exist anymore.

I'll let the M4a link alive but when it dies it dies forever. The link will be only valid one week instead of my usual 4 weeks.

Just grab the flacs, yycma6 already said he will not re-up the m4as.
