Re: EVOLVER (formerly "Two new ones")
To me, Complete Recording Sessions is like the Signature Edition.. and Lord Reith' Abracadabra is like the Ultimate Edition.

Re: EVOLVER (formerly "Two new ones")
Thanks but I want to keep them for Abracadabra.
Well there's a demix in that series yes which isn't as good but it does have the full ending. But generally these supersede Monolonger.
Well thankyou sir. That is what I was aiming for.
I did bring up the vocals slightly because they are very low on the single. But I didn't want to change it completely. Here you did wonderful stuff with Across the Universe, a song I love and crave a good, well mixed version of (ditto for Hey Bulldog). The single version of Help! Is remarkable. The vocals (lead and especially backup) seem a little low in the mix, but the separation and sound stage are stunning.

Re: EVOLVER (formerly "Two new ones")
Another two incoming!
First up is Oh Darling. This I first heard this version on an old vinyl boot in the mid 80s and I was captivated. I really like the way Paul sings this, and there are also some harmonies and backing vocals not on the album. I think this mono mix was later released in much better quality on Unsurpassed Masters Vol.5, but fortunately I have the unprocessed source tape for that cd (the cd has noise reduction). But beside the point, this track is now full stereo.
After that is a stereo mix of Aerial Tour Instrumental. As with a lot of their songs they filled up the spare tracks of the four track tape with experimental overdubs and these got wiped when they added the acoustic guitar and maracas and other stuff. Here the original rhythm track is in the centre (and wow, what a great guitar sound), the organ, piano and la-la-la's are on the left, and all the stuff that got wiped is on the right. This includes some backward cymbals, organ and lots of weird Mellotron stuff, but also some extra vocals. The jazz ending is them mucking about over the top of a loop which played if you held down the lowest key of the Mellotron (seemingly sampled from an unidentified 78rpm). I did a demix of this song on Monolonger but it wasn't as good as this one.
Enjoy...

Re: EVOLVER (formerly "Two new ones")
I wonder if the jazz ending of Fying was originally going to be part of the film like background music of the strip club scene and then they changed it to a band on stage.
Re: EVOLVER (formerly "Two new ones")
Lord Reith in your explanation of “Aerial Tour Instrumental” you talk about experimental overdubs. Through your work how could “I Am the Walrus” and “Tomorrow Never Knows” which use special effects be mixed? I am not a specialist in audio technique, but these two songs which are part of my favorites, come to mind ... Thanks to your achievements, I find this plunge into the heart of the matter fascinating. It gives a new listening and even a certain modernity. Great pleasure to listen to your creations. PS: in the previous posts, thank you for your response "Abracadabra" ...
