May 19th 1966 – Studio Three, 7:00pm-11:00pm

01. For No One – Filming of the Paperback Writer and Rain videos took place in Studio One
starting at 10:00am. ML only mentions them returning to Studio Three to record the horn
part. Bass and tambourine were likely SI'd onto take 14 at this session (or not). The bass
is from the dvd 5.1 mix LFE channel. It could have been recorded during the previous session.
Bass and tambourine are not evident on the take 13 monitor mix though. EQ'ing the LFE does
not reveal the tambourine on that track; but based on the existing mixes (stereo and 5.1)
it couldn't be on any other track, other than the horn track, which doesn't seem likely.

02. For No One – Horn overdub from the stereo left channel, with bass and tambourine from
the previous overdub. A mix from Silver Hammer Man.

The Fabs are busy filming promos so GM does some stereo mixing. Since these are strictly official releases I won't upp them. US mixes are on Yesterday and Today of course.

May 20th 1966 – Studio One, 11:00am-12:30pm

01. And Your Bird Can Sing – US stereo mix, edit of RS1-2.

02. And Your Bird Can Sing – UK stereo mix RS2 as noted on John Barrett’s tape log.
Separate reels exist with all three Lennon songs mixed both for the US and the UK.
Barrett’s notes seem to indicate that the two mixes of this song are different, one
for each tape, although most sources say they are the same. However, the lead guitars
during the middle 8's can be heard to reduce in volume on the UK version whereas on
the US version the guitars stay at the same volume all the way through.
