What horrors must invade the mind?
During Get Back, we hear about possibly replacing George with Eric Clapton...
Then, in 1970, there were small editorial musings about Paul being replaced by Klaus Voorman.
The 80's would mumble about Julian replacing his father.
Then....
I've never understood how any of this was even considered by the other three!
What the hell?
The group set the world on its own ear in seven years.
So, 25 years AFTER it ended...
WHAT was this supposed to accomplish?
And, for Anthology...of all things.
While I can't think of ANY Beatles tune created on such a premise...
why were THESE tracks deemed worthy?
They are barely good enough to be horrible!
It's an old gripe...but, now, this release means two MORE songs were pending completion!?!?!
That's either the worst great news ever...or,
the best terrible news ever. BUT...
I haven't heard ANY reunion talk since 1995.
Maybe, that was the function.
Risky, but effective!
AND, the B-sides were simply the best.
Even so, I know that many love these songs. Thank you, pumma4, for making these available.
It is the most comprehensive set that I've seen.
KC

I read somewhere that George complained a lot during these sessions, and called the songs "rubbish." They COULD have done something without John, like they did in '69 and '70, but they did these instead, and they have their moments...
