In 2017, Giles Martin remixed and rereleased Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band for its 50th Anniversary, and did this for every consecutive album afterwards. (Except for Let It Be, Which was delayed.)
The results were... mixed. Not a lot of people really enjoyed it, calling it "Too compressed" and "Too Bass-Heavy". This collection hopes to undo the things that Giles had done to the tracks, aside from mixing.
And I Call It:
I'll update this thread with every album that I finish "De-Martin-izing". I won't be doing the outtakes/bonus tracks.

Re: The Beatles... De-Martin'ed. (2022)
First post is the one that started it all: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in 2017.
I ripped this from my CD, which was the first CD I ever bought. This particular album was really compressed, so I used the compressor graph on Adobe Audition to decompress it. I also turned down the bass on some tracks and expanded the stereo image on all of them, which I feel has breathed new life into them. I could even hear studio chat on some of these tracks!
So, may we introduce to you.. The mix you've known for five years!
Available for one week.

Replace the Xs with Ts; Enjoy!

Great concept, thanks! And nice clean tops and tails too
Do you have the hi-res PCM and/or MQA versions to work from as well?
Also, TOUP released something called "Classical Master [volume-reduced]" where I guess they recognized and addressed the same problems.

The only real Hi-Res audio I have is a 24-96 rip of the 2021 Let It Be. Other than that, all of these will be sourced from the CDs I currently own.alphabeatles wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 2:11 am Great concept, thanks! And nice clean tops and tails too
