Magical Mystery Tour Location Question
Re: Magical Mystery Tour Location Question
Found the location of the Shell garage!, which is sadly no more, as is the white bungalow next to it. The stone house with red paintwork is still on the corner, although remodelled a bit.
(Found it by looking for the electricity substation behind the house).

Doing well with these, just can't find the initial location I was looking for!

Re: Magical Mystery Tour Location Question
On the Shell garage shot the bus is travelling in the wrong direction for it to be from the outward journey to Newquay.

Re: Magical Mystery Tour Location Question
Beautiful country... kind of reminds me of where I live, here in Pennsylvania.
Really amazing work, sn00ker. Since we're on the subject of gas stations, have you found the BP station where they filmed the (unused) bathroom scenes?

Thanks Doug. Yes, fantastic countryside in Devon & Cornwall.
I'm not familiar with the BP station/Bathroom scene footage. Have you a screenshot?

Re: Magical Mystery Tour Location Question
Sure. It's the Moorlands Garage & Café rest stop footage, slate 47 from Sept. 15th.
Re: Magical Mystery Tour Location Question
Thanks Doug. Unfortunately I can't really locate anything based on the screen shots (is it possible to upload the footage?).
But based on the date and working back on slate numbers I reckon it's likely to be on Moorland Road, Indian Queens. You can tell by looking at Google Street view and the old OS map that Moorlands Road is the old A392 trunk road out of Newquay.

Re: Magical Mystery Tour Location Question
Doug, there's a couple of photos on Getty Images from the Moorlands Garage & Cafe with the date of 12 Sep (the other MMT images on the site seem to be accurately dated). Are you sure the date of the footage is correct?
Although I don't think we can locate this one without any addition details - buildings in the background etc
