Lennon Remembers

Post by beatlepaul »

Just came across these in my collection if anybody is interested, these are the raw tapes from the infamous Jann Wenner interview recorded in December 1970.

Here's the lossless 4disc Darthdisc release. I've compared this share from 2013 to a share from 2017 with log files included but useless track names unfortunately. That makes me pretty confident these are OK.

A mono folddown of this would be problematic because of the 2 channels being out of sync. So there is at least 1 reason for a remaster.
Please note I kept these as received, so the discs are in the wrong order. See txt files. 29, 22, 20, 16 tracks is the right order I hope.
I've also included a broadcast edit recorded off FM.
Thanks to Darthdisc! Thanks everyone who helped me obtain this and thanks to beatlepaul for digging this out. Anyone up for starting a dedicated Darthdisc thread?

In '71 or '72 I checked the (hardback) copy of this out of my school's library (we had a pretty cool librarian at the time). I started reading it, and the very first day someone "appropriated" it out of my stack of schoolbooks. Not only did I not get to finish it, but I had to pay for a new copy for the library. At least now I'll finally get to read it. Thank you, Mr. Bump!
