Here's the aircheck from WUSF where "Piece Of Mind" (AKA "The Candle Burns") made its first appearance.
(I'd used the '87 CD version of "Come Together" to get the aircheck into a more correct speed and to expand the frequency range of this).

Of all the things I thought I'd see, the answer to the Peace--I mean, Piece!--of Mind mystery was not one of them. Holy cow. Quite the story, though. And to think, 50 years onward, even with the majority calling it fake, it was still appearing on Beatle boots. I can't help but be impressed.

Couldn't help but notice that the nice new extended outro has unfortunately been spoiled by crossfading with Come Together on this tape. I thought I'd try fixing it using Adobe Audition's "Sound Remover" tool, and by some miracle it worked! It's not perfect of course, but it's much cleaner than I expected it to turn out.

Incidentally, the true performer of "Peace Of Mind" (Piece!) seems to have come forward over the past few years - his name was Walton Jones. Now a professor, he said he had no idea how the song, which he gave to friends, ended up passed around as a Beatles track.

Did some more work on cleaning this one up (though the track is not exactly hi-fi, like "Aja" or "Dark Side Of The Moon" (let alone "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band")...!!!
