Which version did you get? Bobby’s problem seemed to be the vinyl since he said the digital versions sounded alright. I haven’t had a chance to listen to the 5CD version I picked up.

I'm referencing the CD. I believe his reviews of the streaming were just based off of the few samples that we got on streaming (Edit: I may be wrong on this after re-watching the video, so apologies), and I was quite optimistic when I heard those as well. I think he was hearing the outtakes, which are more dynamic and pleasing to hear. But the main remix of the album is horrible, I think it has a dynamic range of 7.

I made a quick comparison of "My Sweet Lord", it starts off with the original mix and changes every five seconds. And this is during the dynamic part of the new mix. The second half of this song was squashed beyond belief.

The 30th anniversary set was disliked because of excessive noise reduction. I guess Dhani and Olivia are the ones to blame if the 50th anniversary set is disliked, as they have such a firm and controlling grip on what comes out....

(I'm glad I've still got my LPs (YEX 817 - 1U through to YEX 822 - 1U, as cut in 1970)).
