Deep Purple Fireball Canada 8-track.

bonniegreg wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 2:39 am As mentioned previously, the Stones' Some Girls 8-track had studio remixes and edits of at least 3 songs. Miss You had a lyric section that has never been released anywhere since. Beast of Burden was also noticeably remixed and extended. I remember hearing the 8-track after the album came out and was completely caught off guard. I've also heard these versions on internet bootlegs made by Goblin, I think. Unfortunately I lost the files in a computer crash years ago and ye ole Green Place is nowhere to be found. Perhaps a Stones fan among us might have these to hear again.
I remember that it also featured the promo 45 edit of Shattered and Miss You was the 12” version if I’m not mistaken

Three attempts by manufacturers trying to make 8-track sound "high end" (the compact Harman/Kardon is only a player, but it's a quadraphonic unit with incredible sound).

You know(?): they came out on cartridges in the 'States like these as well, and...THIS kind *did* use a reel to reel as the master dub source (because they were the same 1/4-track format and the head of these machines would act like an auto reverse play head after a full side finished). Also, four-track cartridges didn't use a self-contained pinch roller like eight-track cartridges (the roller was instead part of the machine's transport).

Hi Hogshead. You've been posting here today but not on your reel-to-reel thread. Quite a few of us have queries over there...could you take a look please? Thanks :)
