Lemme start by saying Lord Reith's recent remix is probably the best authentic sounding remix of the song out there. Believe it or not I really only critically listened to his mix after I started work on my own. I've been slowly replacing some of my old personal mixes which are now quite dated and technically inferior. The recent versions of the demucs algorithms are noticeably better.
Here I wanted to make my own so that I could, well, have my own mix and also to see what was possible with the new technology. I purposely avoided using as much of the "Love" mix as possible since while it's a cool remix it unfortunately contains FX that are not original and is overall just too modern sounding. Basically I wanted my remix to sound like the original wide stereo mix BUT wide stereo all the way through and of course have all the drums in the center. My philosophy is a remix should sound like a superior alternative vintage mix.
As you might expect it's a nightmare of a track to rebuild using parts of 4 or 5 sources many of which needed speed correction by synchronizing with a control source and demucs-ing. Unfortunately I'm lacking some extra separation near the end that LR was successful with. I'll probably do tiny tweaks in the future but here it is for now.

Thanks for this, sounds excellent!
Anyone have a link to Lord Reith's remix?
Won't let me search "I Am The Walrus" because words are too common...
