Thank you for the Playtape E.P.'s

The one are made in Japan, should be looked at in the same manner
as Japan Exports to the U.S. market

Like the export UK, & some Euro Albums during the time period

After the 3 - 7" records E.P.'s Vee Jay & Capitol did, these should be looked at E.P. Tapes

Are any of the songs have any unique mixes?

Beside the U.S., I wonder if Canada or Japan released these at all?

I actually have a 1960's Playtape machine still in it's original box and packaged with a Beatles Playtape (Beatles VI) as I recall, and possibly one other Beatles cartridge too. I bought it at a Sotheby's auction in London in the early 1980's. I live in Thailand now and it's currently stored in the UK or I would have posted a picture. I've never even tried to play it so I'll have to download these files to hear what I am missing lol.

That was great, thanks. As I recall the packaging on my Playtape machine is similar but not quite the same because sticking out from the front of the box is a clear plastic pop-out that contains a Beatles Playtape, no doubt some models at some time came with a free Beatles Playtape cartridge and the box design was altered to show off this fact.

I have the 1310 model, which is pretty basic. I do like the look of the 1400 in the video though. I find it interesting that all of the playtapes were mono, but they were thinking ahead by putting the stereo option on the knob. If you notice, on the playtapes they even use the Capitol mono catalog numbers (until 1969 when they start using the stereo catalog numbers in preparation for the upcoming stereo tapes - which never came). Now that I think about it, I really want to get a hold of the White Album playtapes since the US didn't have a mono White Album, but the playtapes would be in mono. So did they fold down the stereo mix or is it just 1 channel of the stereo mix, or did they get the mono masters specifically for the playtapes? Hmmmm.
