Hmm... my guess is wherever the post production was held.masterjedi wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 7:09 amI too have a soft spot for those, but maybe they are best left in the context of the movie. Where was Barber of Seville recorded, BTW?bsizzy_27 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 11:30 pm Out of nowhere, for volume 5, the count in for "Lose That Girl" popped in my head for a possible mix variation... I know it's not musical per se but I can't think of the song without it... along with the "Seville" recording at the end credits... again, the Beatles don't do anything musical but I find it funny to listen to "I Need You by George Harrison"!

From Vol. 8 snippets, I have a questions about "plastic soul." I have a longer piece that has Paul talking about shapes and then says something like "think plastic baby" and then the "plastic soul" that appears in the snippets. What song is this bit of audio associated with? I always assumed it tied in with recording I'm Down.
Hope someone can sort this out for me.

It's actually the Vol. 7 snippets (not vol. 8, my mistake) with "plastic soul" so that's earlier than the recording of Fixing A Hole. But maybe Paul talking about shapes and saying "plastic soul" are from two separate sessions. I'm easily confused.

That's my point, the two snippets aren't connected at all. The 'think plastic' is about the material of objects in the studio (supposedly Regent Studio, but possibly Abbey Road during the finishing session, in any case recording Fixing A Hole), while the 'plastic soul' is obviously the famous dig at the Stones's construed R&B sound. Indeed being from the June 14th '65 I'm Down session.

I regret telling you that I haven't been working on it in the past few months. I'm sure I'll get back into it eventually, but I haven't had much down time lately.

I'm sure I speak for many of us when I say I completely understand, gotta take care of your own business and certainly owe no one here anything!
And also that I'm so appreciative of these absolutely essential collections in the canon, and can't wait for the next volume!
