'Jackanory with John Lennon'

Post by MarkRJones1970 »

John Lennon reads, in the creepiest voice, part of 'The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle' by Beatrix Potter in (probably) 1967 and (probably) recorded at his house in Kenwood, Surrey.

Once upon a time, there was a little bit of scribble that shone like the son...
you remember, my imaginary father and the gift that I drew for him...in the sky
and sparkly warm with diamonds. So, anyway...he liked it enough to make it a song
but the words, oh the words, he got them all wrong. You see, he thought I said Lucie...
in the sky was all cloudy. The son was still shining and the words were all rhyming and
suddenly, I knew that kaleidoscope stew was all we were having for dinner. Then when
he put on his glasses he was not quite as clever. And, before the tangerine tiggy winkle
had worn off...the game had been lost and he misspelled her name!
Hey, Jules...don't blame your dad...
Take a crayon and make it better!
And, don't draw pictures of number 9.
Unless you want the sun to shine!

Thank you, Mark.
I thought it was going to be a tape from Revolution 9...
Maybe next time!
