As mentioned in a post before Christmas, I promised to try sharing recordings of The Beatles and solo that I didn't see mentioned on the forum. These were cassette recordings from transcription discs and as the years rolled by, they were put in a shoebox and left in my attic when I moved to my current home.
Our good friend 'Nimbus' has very kindly taken control of these recordings and will be posting them for you all to enjoy. He has done a magnificent job and has agreed to take responsibility for their digitising and uploading.
If members of the forum can shed light on the recordings, it will be most welcome.

Looking forward to hearing them!
Most of my links are to OneDrive. However, OneDrive does impose a download limit and when this is reached displays a message that the files are deleted or have expired. Leave it a while and try again later.

Re: File Under/Nimbus Project
Ok, here we go. I'll try to do one every day and there are 16 in total. All the tapes will be digitised as they are. There will be no editing or processing and they will in FLAC format. Dolby NR was not used on playback as they were not recorded with NR. The tapes are decent quality (BASF) but I can see on playback that the R/L channels vary in volume and wow/flutter is evident, especially on the music tracks. Hardly surprising as they could be 30 - 40 years old. Other forum members may be able to improve the sound quality. Thanks again to FileUnderT for sharing these with us.
Yamaha cassette deck ----> Naim Uniti ------> DAC -----> Audacity 16bit 44Khz
This is 'Rock of Ages' (not Rock of Eighties) - a George Harrison radio programme from the early 80's (a reference to the recent album 'Somewhere in England' is made). The end of the tape states that the narrator is 'Dave Cousins' and was broadcast on Piccadilly Radio (Manchester, UK). I can't find any other info about it.

Re: File Under/Nimbus Project
I also have The Beatles Story 13 part BBC series hosted by Brian Matthews, taken off BBC transcription discs. Are these already available on the forum?

Re: File Under/Nimbus Project
I thought it was on here, but I couldn't find it. But I also have a digital copy of it, so if you were planning on doing a needledrop I don't think you have to (unless you just want to).FileUnderT wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 8:32 pm I also have The Beatles Story 13 part BBC series hosted by Brian Matthews, taken off BBC transcription discs.
