A new to market an acetate of Happiness is a Warm Gun is to be sold at Omega Auctions on the 28 September.





The new disc looks similar to an earlier disc sold at Christie's in 2005.




Hopefully the audio will become available.

With the original title appearing on both acetates, reports that it is supposedly different, and no mix identified on the discs; my working theory is that this is a rough mix of Take 53 on the 24th September prior to the edit with Take 65A .

I ruled out RM1+2 as I doubt being recorded the day prior to RM3-12, with no additional overdubs that any variation to the release RM12 would be minor. With a a rough mix of T65B already circulating, I can't see what else this would be unless it is that T65B rough mix.

So fingers crossed for an early rough mix.

I have it. If I remember correctly, it's just the "Anthology" outtake with crackle added to it.

You might be right, Doug. I just gave it a listen. It's hard to be certain because the dynamics on the Unicorn boot are sooo bad. FWIW, probably because of EQ and NR, there's more of a bass presence on the Unicorn... but it does sound like the Anthology 1 mix.
