NOTES: Performance on the David Frost TV show, `Frost On Sunday', singing `Hey Jude' (filmed 4 September 1968).
The Beatles filmed the promotional clips for “Hey Jude” and “Revolution” at Twickenham Film Studios. They were joined by a 36-piece orchestra and an invited audience of 300 people. Three takes of “Hey Jude” were filmed, the end result film using an edit of takes one and three.
The “Hey Jude” film was to have its world premiere on September 8, 1968, on the TV show “Frost On Saturday“, presented by David Frost.
My remastered audio version- from the extended video footage which has the full introduction including their impromptu rendition of Elvis Presley’s “It’s Now Or Never,” which was edited out of the 2015 1+ DVD edition
***UPDATE *** two additional versions have been added to this post *** 3-6-24
1. a new remix of the basic track (remix 1-6-24) (07:05)
2. the David Frost show (08:09) remixed dated 22-5-24 *with improved audio quality*
3. Then a hybrid version of the Frost show without the “introduction”- but with the remix of 1-6-24 blended together- This was an experiment just to see what it might sound like- (there is a slight variation in tempo which I have “ ironed out” as best I could, but it is a quite interesting to hear the song which has resulted in a ”double tracked Paul vocal” complete with orchestra and audience joining in (remixed 2-6-24) 07:21
