I bet VLC would work..just save the .mkv into the “Files” on your iPad and play it from there and yes, with a program like Handbrake you can convert it to an mp4IfYouLookToYourLeft wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 3:43 am Arrgh! VLC will play it on iPad. Converting to MP4 is only needed if you want to sync via the iTunes library.

Reflecting on LET IT BE vs GET BACK. Generally, LET IT BE has always been viewed as a documentary, essentially showing the Beatles breaking up as they record their final album. The reality is LET IT BE is a collection of highlights from the rehearsals and final performances. GET BACK is much more of a "found footage" documentary. The actual footage from the sessions, particularly the early days, was intended as b-roll for a concert performance. Even Peter Jackson had a hard time piecing it together, as is evident when GET BACK came out. The focus shifted to be a documentary mid-stream. Jackson used the footage to tell the story he wanted to tell. He manipulated some materials but he was still limited by what was filmed 50 years ago. GET back is more like a reality show that can't really show everything, highlighting the drama they had on film. GET BACK certainly documents the month long sessions better than LET IT BE. Neither is a pure documentary and neither tell the full story of what was going on. The break up started after Brian died, and climaxed during the Abbey Road sessions.
I loved Get Back and have been enjoying the restored Let it Be. Both were a long time coming

Re: Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 'Let It Be' is coming!
To me the break up started during the ‘66 tour when George already threatened to leave the band and everyone went their own ways before regrouping for Pepper. Then they buried the fab four band basically on the album cover. Brian was a second nail in the coffin but certainly not someone who could have prevented them growing apart. It’s basically inevitable when you have three songwriting talents or even geniuses with vastly different egos and world views.
And although there were several climaxes like Ringo leaving the White Album sessions and George in Twickenham, but I wouldn’t say that something climaxed during Abbey Road?

That was basically the last time Lennon recorded with them. They never regrouped after that and a month later Lennon asked for the "divorce."
