there is no way to be sure of anything now.
But, I have thought all along that there would be ZERO overlap between LIB and GB. MLH probably worked off of original negative and was careless about destroying or losing them. So, there probably isn't any visual gimmick to exploit to begin with. The only angle to pitch is already set up. A deluxe version now will miss the opportunity on this platform? How??? Disney could pretend to be the oaf that is fumbling and stumbling but if the movie retains its purity without something extra, will it be any better? They should let MLH do some serious fear porn/modern translation as pre-game promo whereby he was romanticly smitten with cigar smoke and when he woke up on the roof, it was very sandy and cold...which might not be fictitious but vividly imagined. Leaving London Town in the keeping of the ghost who is sweeping up the cigar butts of Savile Row! Realize that I have just set up the real plot that could go anywhere...like from then to now in a paddy wagon. Take him to the station and book him, into the evidence room and Let Him Be. Introduce the real campaign from there and pretend that the 1970 movie was just the set up for a new release: The Get Back - REALIZED!
As conceived, et. cetera.
SDE Edition is a shipping box full of reels to put in the bin!
Tower Bridge!?! We haven't been anywhere!
Spike Milligan can arrest George Martin and take him to Chez Eduard's for Rice Krispies!
Hudson Sprayer edit!
We just don't know.

Let me make this plain, especially for all the young dudes in the back row who may not have gotten the memo yet: if I ever release an album on vinyl, I want you to write the liner notes. You are our resident Andrew Loog Oldham, and I love you forever for that!
Here here!! I second this motion!

Thank you, L.A.!
MLH is the winner already! He can't fail.
This hinges on the final argument that there is an eternal horror that invades the mind when the approaching judge will find the sinful deeds of all mankind. So let the searching eyes go free and forgive him so the world can see his torment and if he flees...assist him because HE GOT THE ENDING right. He was able to make the decision and I mean to let the concert be the end of the movie. That much, was logical.
Entertaining!
And no scaffolding failure!
Thanks, and Good Luck to all my forum family.
I have missed being here.
Symbolism IS a part of it.
The Beatles Retro Era is drawing to an end.
They are beyond the grasp of social media.
(Therein lies the greatness that will save us)
And though we may be blind,
love is here to stay and that's enuff
so step on the gas and wipe that tear away!
I let it be today, oh boy!
Peace!

If this thing ends up looking half as good as the trailer, there's not going to be much to complain about!

I do think that Let It Be is an important historical document but hadn't watched it since at least a year before GET BACK was released.
Just rewatched the copy I have preparing for this next week....it left so much out and was narratively all over the place.

I'm a bit less excited for the release now.

it left out why they were at twickenham and why the moved to apple.
It left out the bulk of the fight that got george to walk out. it left out how they got him to come back.
It left out the technical issues at both locations.
It left out how preston happened to be there.
and so much more.

I didn't remember it being so heavy handed in its editing of what happened.
remember when you were in The Beatles? and the song goes, “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make”? You.. you remember that?

Yes.

Uh.. is that true?

Yes, Chris. In my experience I find, the more you give, the more you get.

Wednesday can’t come soon enough. This fills a gaping hole in Beatles history. Now for that 18hr edit of Get Back…..
