You Know What To Do 1964 - George, John, Paul

Post by DocRobert »

I recently posted here my new stereo mix of George Harrison’s June 1964 demo YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO (Peter61 did the great demo separation stems) and I wondered how this track would have sounded had George’s bandmates played on it too. This gave me an idea, so to my stereo mix of George’s demo I added the original instrumental of THE BALLAD OF JOHN & YOKO plus its post-bridge snare fills. George now has John & Paul playing along with him, and his very basic 1964 demo chugs along much better now thanks to the much fuller BEATLES bass, drums, guitars and piano. Presenting THE BALLAD OF YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO - I hope you like it!

That's great, keep going! I hear a bit of piano in there, how about some more obvious boogie-woogie or even an organ pad? And maybe strings? Or Moog!

Thanks, all the music is just from George's demo and the Ballad of John & Yoko. I wouldn't want to add anything that wasn't "Beatles".

This would have been great for the "Tuned To A Natural 'E'" compilation!

Of course, I meant from other Beatles songs (Lady Madonna and Blue Jay Way or whatever, depending on key...).
