1966 Shea Overdubs, NO CROWD. Help! & I Feel Fine
Just as 1966 began, The Beatles were back in the studio working on their upcoming Shea Stadium film. Unimpressed with the raw audio from the show, The Beatles quickly overdubbed it, adding in bass lines to a number of tracks, and a new organ to 'I'm Down'.
-
Most importantly, The Beatles also recorded two brand new studio recordings for Help! and I Feel Fine, to cover their tracks, the new recordings were covered in screams.
-
This is where I come along, I always loved these two new studio recordings, always felt like Lennon's Help! vocal was better then mono or studio versions. Using the mighty power of a.i I attempted to remove these crowd noises.
-
It was a lot harder then you it seems, and resulted in the audio sounding rather shallow, I attempted to remix them slightly to make it sound more full.
-
TLDR: I used a.i to remove the crowd overdubs from the January '66 recording of Help!
-
sidenote: The first 10 seconds of Help! are rather noisy, but within a few seconds, becomes more natural. Used the 1990s mix as the source, the mono sounding lower quality. Tell me what you think, and if anyone likes Help!, I can began work on I Feel Fine, and possibly Ticket To Ride, which sounds like a new vocal track?

Re: 1966 Shea Overdubs, Without CROWD
That's really good.
I've always hoped the session tapes might emerge one day, but this is a great substitute.
As I Feel Fine is my favourite Beatles track, I'd love to hear that too.

It's really amazing what all this new software is capable of doing....
This is a really great example....I would love to hear what you can do with I Feel Fine as well.
Thank you for the share!

Re: 1966 Shea Overdubs, NO CROWD. Help! & I Feel Fine
1966-01-05 CTI Studios-London
Paul McCartney overdubbed new bass parts onto ‘Dizzy Miss Lizzy’,
‘Can’t Buy Me Love’, ‘Baby’s In Black’ and ‘I’m Down’.
The latter song – the finale to the concert – also featured a new organ track from John Lennon.
The Beatles then made entirely new recordings for ‘I Feel Fine’ and ‘Help!’,
as the quality of the concert recordings couldn’t be salvaged.
The songs were taped quickly, as they required the necessary live feel,
although care was taken to match the on-screen images to the music.
The group also recorded overdubs for ‘Ticket To Ride’. For ‘Act Naturally’,
however, the EMI studio recording was used

Nice to hear Help! I Feel Fine, in very nice quality
Keep 'em coming..
