Is there a collection of the premier live Beatles tracks?

Post by twogurusindrag »

Is there a collection of the absolute best live Beatles tracks? I would like to hear the "definitive" best from all the shows available. Thanks.

There's no such collection unless somebody made one at home.

Well, let's do it.

Just throwing this out there...

Pick out the best version of each song played live during the 1962-1966 years. Maybe two disc's worth?

Bonus disc/folder A could be during the time before they were signed.

Bonus disc folder B could be the rooftop 'concert.'

Again, just an idea. I offer to collate.

Whatever.

I wish I had the knowledge to make this happen, but it would take somebody like Lord Reith to do it right.

still woolgathering here. Perhaps the core of the collection could be the Hollywood Bowls and Shea, with bonus tracks on the two main discs/folders tracks not played at those venues.

Then a disc/folder of the best of pre-EMI signing concerts

And a disc/folder of rooftop.

A good symmetry, I think.

The "holy grail" would be any audio from the UK 65 tour. Featuring the only performance of "We can work it out" not counting the promos.
Best Beatle day of my life.. September 1st, 2019.
