Outfake by The Fut
The first track, “Have You Heard The Word” was passed off as a Beatles outtake on several bootlegs. It was actually an outtake by an inpromptu group later called The Fut which was recorded by group members Steve Kipner and Steve Groves of the band Tin Tin during a scotch-fueled session with their producer, Bee Gee Maurice Gibb, his wife, and her brother. Kipner, Groves, and Gibb – too drunk to record properly – launched into some Beatles impersonations over the already-recorded instrumental track.

This was my first ever, certainly a poor record, but a memorable one.

It will be forever the "Peter Sellers´ Tape" for me, even if there are now a ton of very well compiled and great sounding Bootlegs out there.
It´s just because Ringo compiled it.
I loved to make mix-tapes (Science & Magic, I´d say, perfectly explained in "High Fidelity" by Nick Hornby).
And thinking that Ringo sat down with his Acetates, choosing the Songs he liked, put them in a special order and mix some extra-noises, chants & messages to it, all for his friend Peter Sellers, is a mind-ear-blowing (hi)story to me.
Here are pics of the only two versions I own physically.
The yellow one is a CD-R I created for myself from a "Masterdisc"(MDCD001)-Download I have.
I made the picture with the cassette-tape coming out of Ringo´s head first and later put the text with the "Reel-to-Reel-Tape" on top without realizing my mistake with the cassette-tape.

This might work well as a multi-round survey/poll... Perhaps we could first come up with a "Top 20" list, and then square them off in brackets or, each week eliminate one via a 'least favorite" poll?

That's a tough one. Different Beatlegs at different times are the favorite at that time for me. If my house was on fire and I could only take 1 Beatleg , I right now would choose Harry And His Boxed Set.
