John: I need the sun
Paul: I do
Spoken ‘intro’ on 1960 ‘I’ll Follow The Sun’

Sounds like a mock German accent but I don't think it's German.

"I need the sun by gmmph". It sounds to me like John is stifling the last word, as one might if a performance is about to start, or if Paul had "shooshed" him with a hand gesture. John is speaking in his "E.L.Wisty" kind of voice.

So we still don’t really know for definite then!
I don’t think it’s 2 different voices though, sounds like the same throughout to me.

I bought all his books and I don’t remember reading it in any of those. If it is German, what does it translate to then?Lord Reith wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 9:56 am It's German I think, it was in LRE King's beatleg book (no relation to me).

He clearly says something like "I need a shook (shock) by..."
