A question about Audiophile Master Collection

Post by SL2020 »

Hello,

Does anyone know anything about this so called Audiophile Master Collection?

Image

What is the source? Dr. Robert? DESS? FSL? And what the hell is "Hybrid Mono/Stereo"?

Thanks.

An eBay auction for one of the other LPs (seemingly Japan-sourced) says,

"An audio file master collection that delivers The Beatles' original album as the ultimate sound source collection with a new dimension hybrid MONO / STEREO remastered CD and 5.1 surround & super high quality 96kHz / 24bit high resolution sound source audio DVD ! The CD includes a hybrid MONO / STEREO remaster, which is a stereo mix of the monaural mix that was emphasized at the time of the 1960s by the latest digital editing.
It is an interesting remastered sound source that has been reborn as a hybrid mix as a new sound image while faithful to the original that the monaural sound source with many mix differences exists in real stereo."

As if that helps any...

I have bought "AHDN" and must say that this "audiophile collection" is an utter embarrassment - half of the CD contents is mp3, and the promised 24-96 PCM of the DVD is, in fact, no higher than 48kHz.

Yes. It's the old saw: "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is."

My addition to the above: "Especially if you have to pay for it (when it comes to Beatlegs)."
