Programs like JDownloader are useful because they queue up d/l's, resume stopped d/l's, and bypass most unwanted pop-ups such as those that cajole into changing browsers. It even has a mechanism to simplify and reduce the annoying captchas. I've been using it for the last few years. It has made things much easier.
