This remix is a beatlegdb collaboration. It's based on a Capitol 1978 vinyl rip by Vee Jay remastered by khundalini ...

This is about the closest we'll every get to a vol.3 Capitol release. Unfortunately had to make a few edits. "Nowhere Man" had way too much sibilance and couldn't be rescued. Therefore, had to substitute a UK vinyl rip (still needed to filter the sibilance.) Also needed to replace "Yesterday" with a UK vinyl one. The Capitol one, IMO, sounds like mush!

All the other tracks sound great with better bass than the 2009 mono box or 2014 Capitol Album stereo tracks. Maybe khundalini will chime in and let us know what specific remastering he did, e.g., eq, etc -

I know it will never happen but I would love a real capitol records remastered released with even the dexterized mixes. That's what I grew up on.

Agree, if only they had released a volume 3 using the master tapes of Y&T & Magical Mystery Tour. At least these ones!
Would be great to have the original 1967 stereo "Strawberry Fields Forever" along with the three missing unique stereo Y&T tracks on CD or digital download.

When asked to express myself:
I didn't question VeeJay's rips. Some albums were better quality, others not so good quality. Overall they were ok for me as I find US vinyls always sound a bit washed out. So "Yesterday" is fine with me.
The albums have been slightly de-clicked, de-crackled and de-noised by me. There is no re-mixing, the volume of the voices is like the original!
I can't really say much about the further mastering because I never remember or document the settings. If I'm satisfied, the case is closed. I couldn't reproduce it, it would be different again.
That helps me with a re-make because I can't cling to old guidelines. As Lord Reith once said: "We build on sand".

"Nowhere Man" hisses really powerfully. However, I wanted to avoid de-essing too hard. Only another source helps here and ... that's how it happened.

The new source of Bombers_1969 also hisses, crackles and rustles, but not as massively.
I have a feeling this source is (as the cover suggests) from a "butcher version" of Y&T, possibly a Dr. Ebbett's work or similar.
