Re: Instant Karma (Top Of The Pops twin track)
No wonder I get confused.
The tambourine dude is really a bass player.
Mal Evans sleeps when he plays tambourine.
Yoko knits her own blindfolds...
The drummer sets up in a different place for every song.
Where's the union rep?
Isn't anybody gonna sing live?
LEVIS is the best sounding subterranean homesick jacket
Ouch! Top Of Pops is really American Bandstand!
Phil Spector phone ohm!
These were all jumbled or bundled or Unioned...
is it union or onion?
Is it Lawyer or Liar?
Do we really stir it before we drink it?
KC

Re: Instant Karma (Top Of The Pops twin track)
(Just to be clear!)
I had NEVER seen the first video where they are dressed in black. It looks familiar but regardless...
2 Bass Players and no guitar...the second bass player is the tambourine player(yellow jacket) from the LEVIS jacket versions(the last two vids).
All three are different edits and the drummer is in a different spot on stage in each. ONE of the lead vocals is very live but not from the video it's 'synched' to.(Edit BEGIN)----> Yoko ISN'T knitting the blindfold in the black clothing that she wears in the placard vids...She is crocheting cardboard placards or, possibly her prerecorded backing vocal. <-----(Edit END) I thought the 2nd bass player looked like an overweight Tommy Evans...but he's obviously more privileged than any piece of 'Ivey'. Is the photographer visible in two of the vids, Richard DiLello? So, HOW many Top Of The Pops episodes ran this black sweater version? Is that the single version of the song playing over it? An OFFICIAL version of the Spector single? That kind of contradicts the LIVE context of the LEVIS version(s). TWO bass players and MAL EVANS looking sedate. Has the black sweater version been released for 50 years? I don't know that I ever saw it. ALL vids look like separate takes. It might have only been filmed twice but this is all on TOTP footage, is it not?
ANY help is greatly appreciated. The live lead vocal is EXTREMELY rough.
Regardless, the UNION rules on miming seem to have gone out the window!
What brutal editing.
Thanks,
KC

Lennon is the first to crash into it. I mean, why mention stuff like Union bans on miming when it's a train wreck in any costume?
Why pretend to be singing when the vids aren't made by a competent editor? They think moving the drum kit is going to matter.
I could swear this is a B-grade version of American bandstand! Send the friggin' dancers home! Give Mal another Mandrax and a chair! Who forgot to bring a guitar? According to Union protocol, if you played on the prerecorded backing track, then YOU MUST APPEAR in the video! So, WHO is the tambourine NON BASS player? Who dressed that clown? He's the director's brother? MAN, what a lovely piece of absolute uselessness! That guy isn't a musician, OR a crew member! Why not just slap Klaus across the face or give him a parachute or...at least put Yoko back in front of a live microphone. AND...STOP decorating the piano with VW flower decals, arm-bands, etc. Is this studio on Carnaby Street?
I'm looking for a tall Moloko Vellocet from una vaca Korova...hold the blindfold!
I can hardly wait until we find out the...forget the truth. Get some competent editing. This affair needed Michael Lindsay Hogg technique with the cut-cut-cut-cut-cut (2 cuts per frame...HUH???) as per the LIVE Revolution, Hey Jude! Or, just take the easy road and add the sounds of Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini...and the sound of one hook crocheting!
How come Lord Reith's video is so precision? Are there four different versions?
These, must have been in the bin with the Candle Burns.
Thanks, AllTogetherNow(nice assist)!

Now, HERE's Lord Reith with...wait for it...The Whether!

Re: Instant Karma (Top Of The Pops twin track)
And has anyone got the original clip with John in black/Yoko knitting with the original sound (ie: not the record overdubbed)? Then I could iso that one too.

Re: Instant Karma (Top Of The Pops twin track)
Add 2 teaspoons to your favorite beverage and stir until
a. Yoko holds up a card that says 'stop stirring'
b. The drum kit is moved next to the coffee machine
c. Phil Spector wears a tin star that says 'Instant Sheriff'
d. Yoko knits a new piano and John plays a 3rd Bass
e. TOTP techs admit that these videos aren't the wiped versions
f. Mal Evans scores some Preludin w/ prerecorded backing track
g. hxxps://we.tl/t-oJszF6rc2k <----ReUp
Who did what to whom for what reason?
Please pass the Instant Yarn(thank you)
KC

I'm also searching for the live audio as I'm planning on restoring both "knitting" and "cue card" videos.
