A fascinating historical element involving these a lot of people don't realize is, that, the 1963/1964 singles included on Capitol's (stereo) albums (the ones which tended to get a far more drastic level of "post-production" affect vs. what they did later from the HELP! soundtrack onward)....were, literally, "re-recorded" in the Capitol echo chamber by: having the mono single master tape piped-into two Altec speakers (inside it) with microphones set up in front of them to get the actual echo-laden reverb (being copied onto, yet, another generation tape). It was not at all entirely a process of electronic gimmickry with someone just twiddling knobs at a control desk. A LOT of the reverb was, in fact, "mechanically-made" natural acoustic phenomena because of how they'd re-recorded the source in a particular controlled environment to produce such a result. The "knob twiddling" would be the next step in making a "Duophonic master": where an EQ would serve as a comb filter by (typically) cutting the upper midrange and boosting the bass in the left channel, while cutting the bass and the lower midrange in the right channel. A compressor would then be used to "squeeze" any excess echo off impacting the vocal frequencies to try to make it sound (somewhat) balanced and intelligible (which, of course, the whole idea of Duophonic never could sound like!).

The thing that most people overlook is that Capitol Records made Beatlemania a completely unique experience for U.S. fans.
Not just physically, but, mentally and emotionally. Song selection and artwork were a huge part but so were duophonic and reverb.
Reverb in the U.S. was like metal flake paint for radio. So, too was the Capitol Records extrusion of the Beatles experience. Maximized profit and lots of nuance...ALL metal flake...were part of the customized affair. Heck, Los Angeles was even led to believe that the 1965 single of Yesterday was by an artist named Paul McCartney! Just check the KHJ HitBound Top 30 lists from then.

I'm sure you've heard this elsewhere - this is a very aggravating way to share things.

Suggestion: Try posting these files in a folder, instead of individually. That allows others to either download the entire folder, or pick and choose the titles they want.

THank you, MrP! You've performed a needed service. As good as Hogshead of Hellfire's collection might be, I'm not sure I would've had the patience to download each of these tracks individually.
