The gist of it was that Mark had allowed a reporter to cozy up to him while ostensibly writing a profile piece, then wormed his way into getting a sneak peek at some Fab goodies. Lo and behold, instead of a profile piece about Mark it was really meant to be an insider Beatles article. Mark had been innocently duped and apologized profusely, but George never forgave him for falling for the reporter's espionage.
