Paul McCartney and Wings - 2LP set Fly South

8 arms book page.211

Perth - Entertainment Centre - Saturday, November 1st, 1975
Wings played to 8,000 fans at the opening concert at Entertainment Centre. Highlights of the Perth concert (7 songs) and contemporary
interview bites first appeared on disc two of the 2LP set Fly South taken from a radio broadcast ("Concert Replay") on Melbourne's 3XY. The
broadcast used a very good audience recording for 'The Long And Winding Road' and 'My Love', while 'Yesterday', 'Band On The Run', 'Hi, Hi,
Hi', 'Blackbird' and 'Letting Go' all come from an inline source. The single disc version of Fly South omits 'Yesterday', 'Blackbird' and 'Letting
Go'. The inline version of 'Yesterday' from Perth can be discerned from the Melbourne performance during the line ";had to go;". During the
Perth show Paul's voice gives out on the word "go".
In addition to the aforementioned songs, another five songs from the Perth performance as well as additional interviews and commercial
recordings were broadcast on station 6PM as The Wings Special. These tracks (several of which have since been bootlegged), include 'Venus
And Mars', 'Rock Show' and 'Jet' from the inline source, and 'Let Me Roll It' and 'Live And Let Die' from the audience recording. The tracks on
the 3XY broadcast are identified as coming from the Perth performance. No other audience recordings of the performance have surfaced with
which to verify the 3XY's announcer's identification.
